
Eli Groner is currently serving as Prime Minister Netanyahu's Director-General, a position he assumed after being confirmed by the Israeli Cabinet in June 2015. The Director-General manages Israel's federal bureaucracy, and is responsible for formulation and implementation of most domestic policy decisions.
Among other responsibilities, Mr. Groner is the Israeli head of the China-Israel Joint Economic Task Force, oversees the National Cyber Bureau, and was designated by the government to lead Israel's National Intelligent Mobility Initiative
Prior to assuming his role as Director-General, Mr. Groner served as the economic attaché to Washington, a position also requiring Cabinet confirmation. His time in the public sector was preceded by two years at Tnuva and six years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Groner graduated from Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel, and has an MBA from New York University. He lives in Elazar, Israel, with his wife Tamar and their five children.
