Itzik Kochav is one of the senior information security managers and specialists in Israel. In the past, he served 30 years as an information security officer in the Israel Air Force and is one of the founders of the information security infrastructure in the Israeli Defense Forces. Upon his retirement with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he established the information protection system at the Clalit Health Services and created an infrastructure for the ISO27799 standard for health information security. Currently, he serves as a mentor for the Israeli health system, as a consultant to health organizations and leading companies. He is a senior lecturer on information security and cyber protection in the academic world. Kochav was one of the founders of Israel's National Forum for Information Security and serves as a member of the Cyber Forum at the Cyber Research Institute at Tel Aviv University. Itzik Kochav holds a BA in Business Administration and an MA in Emergency Medicine from Ben-Gurion University.
Itzik Kochav is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award by "People and Computers" in 2015, for promoting information security in Israel. Kochav has published many papers on policy and procedures including the management of information security, many of which are used as resource materials in universities and in healthcare systems.
